Steady Rests Accessory

To accommodate very sensitive or non-round workpieces, we have developed various swarmers that are used in a Richter steady rest.

The grinding and turning dogs of Richter® Steady Rests are made of steel. They are used as drivers for workpieces that are machined on lathes or grinding machines between centers and must be rotated for this purpose. The entire diameter range is securely clamped with only one DIN 915 clamping screw.

Place the Richter® steady-rest behind the headstock on a stand, to support longer work-pieces outside of the machine.

Protect your employees and equipment, when your steady-rest is not on the machine. Richter® storing frames cares for a save stand of the Richter® steady-rest, when not placed on the machine and helps to manage order at the workplace.

Richter® steady-rests manufactures customer specific brackets of vibration absorbing massive cast iron, to mount hydraulic self-centering steady-rests of any supplier on your machine.

We recommend the usage of our quill change devices beyond a quill diameter of about 100 mm. Activities like changeover and maintenance become thereby safer, more ergonomic and more efficient.

The Richter Steady Rest® oil dispenser for external workpiece lubrication is used when the workpiece requires additional oil lubrication in the area of the quill support in the grinding or turning process. It is available in two sizes:
Size L = 110 mm felt width
Size M = 75 mm felt width
