Richter®-Steady-Rests offer its special steel Richter®-Roller – designed and manufactured in our factory in Germany – for quills from diameter 80 – 330 mm. So we can equip our Richter®-Steady-Rests with Richter®-Roller from 5 – 100 to work piece load.

Over the past years Richter®-Steady-Rests developed its special plastics Richter®-Roller for sensitive work pieces. In case of using those special plastics Richter®-Roller for Richter® Steady-Rests, surface damages on the sensitive work piece like dents, scratches and roller marks will be prevented.

To reduce the work piece load on the Richter®-Roller, we increase the contact area between work piece and Richter®-Roller by using Richter®-Dual-Roller. The weight of the work pieces will be separated on two roller instead of only one. This is important in case of a high work piece load in relation to a low mechanical strength of the work piece surface.

To prevent work piece and Richter®-Roller from damages by turning chips, we equip our quills and rollers with the Richter®-Deflector-Plate. Those plates slide springy on the Richter®-Roller and wipe off all chips from the turning process.

To prevent work piece and Richter®-Roller from damages by turning chips, we developed the Richter®-Steady-Rest „Work Piece Chip Cover“.

For grinding steady-rests or steady-rests for turning very sensitive surfaces, we developed the special plastic XYLAGLIDE that will be mounted on the top end of the quill so that the work piece slides on it. By using XYLAGLIDE inserts the stick-slip effect will be reduced to nearly zero. XYLAGLIDE is applicable for work piece loads up to about 2 to.

The Richter®-Babbitt-Bearing is a reliable and established support-surface for sensitive work pieces running in Richter®-Grinding-Steady-Rests to achieve absolute true running accuracy.
This type is used for external lubrication.

Richter®-Babbitt-Bearings cast on the quill or the quills-top guarantee an optimal work piece surface protection and achieve absolute true running accuracy. By the internal pressure oil lubrication very heavy parts can be rotated by very low friction on the Richter®-Steady-Rest.
